The Underwater World has never been more accessible than it is today. For most people, its recreational diving that opens up the door to the aquatic realm. Yes, it’s good to watch the underwater world on TV, but it’s even better to be there, in the water, swimming amongst the aquatic life! Since the 1940’s, Jacques Cousteau has made recreational diving what it is today, an activity enjoyed by both genders from the age of 8 to 88! And thanks to advances in equipment, training and support services over the years, many adventurous people enjoy recreational scuba diving.
The World’s Oceans (there’s only one Ocean really because they all connect) cover approximately 71% of the earth’s surface. Adding to this, there are hundreds of lakes, quarries, rivers all waiting to be explored. I promise you, once you have been through that door and witnessed the aquatic world; your life will never be the same again!
Yes, it feels strange at first. The mask you wear, the scuba gear feels a bit awkward and heavy. Then, you ease into the water for the first time and you look below the surface. You inhale through your regulator and the air comes out with a reassuring hiss, and for the first time, you breathe underwater! Then without you knowing you forget about your mask, and your equipment is now light and agile. With that first underwater breath, the door opens to a completely different world, the Underwater World! Come through the door and join us, your life will never be the same again!”
